Your photos are never uploaded
HEIC decoding and JPG encoding both happen inside your browser, and files are read through the local file picker, so no upload request is made. You can verify this in the Network panel of your browser developer tools: no file data leaves the page during a conversion.
No files are stored
There is no backend service and no database. The converted image is handed straight to your browser for download, and the image data in memory is released as soon as you close the page, so there is nowhere for us to keep it.
No personal data collected
Using the tool needs no sign-up and no login, and we never ask for your name, phone number or email address. We do not collect personally identifying information and do not build user profiles.
Analytics
The site uses the privacy-friendly analytics provided by Cloudflare to understand whether pages load correctly and roughly how many people visit. It sets no cookies and does not track how individual visitors browse.
Local storage
The only browser storage this site uses is for language preference: when you switch language manually, your choice is written to localStorage (key heic-lang) so it can be respected next time. That record stays on your device and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser data.
Third parties and changes
The pages load no advertising, social plug-ins or third-party tracking scripts; apart from the Cloudflare CDN and its anonymous analytics, no third party has access to your visit. If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page will be updated. Questions are welcome at admin@xunidd.com.
